NIIC 2012 will focus on how to further strategies for immigrant integration in a time of economic

downturn and increased anti-immigrant backlash, and provide a space to think through what a

new decade of immigrant integration entails and examine the opportunities that are arising. Best

practices, innovative programs, academic research, and top organizing models will be shared during

the conference that address the many challenges that host communities, receiving institutions and

immigrants face, with the hope of strengthening immigrant integration services and policies across the

country.
